Poor Daisy, She is a paid for rehome, When I came across daisy she was being sold because her family home fell apart, They wanted an experienced home due to her size.
Sadly this was not her true story, I was taken back when I collected Daisy and they gave me herself, a teddy, the vet card and immediately left.
First I noticed this very large girl was on a puppy lead, the lead was well worn and coming apart, I had brought an 8 lead as they pre warned me she pulls, also using the train I knew I would need to keep her as safe as possible, Especially if she spooked, So i removed the lead and put it in the station bin, Then I checked her collar, Again it was filthy, very tight, so tight I actually struggled to release the clip and get it off and that also was placed in said bin, At this point my hands were filthy, my coat was full of dust and dry mud from her fur and I had to purchase baby wipes to clean up a little, Travelling via train i used this time to update her microchip details, An this was when I learned the current owner had never put the chip in her name, She gave me another name and area to tell the chip company, this was also not her registered keeper, so I rang a random number written on the back of the vet card, This was her breeder and the person she sold Daisy too with a puppy contract was again someone else.
In 20 months Daisy was now in her 5th Home.
The potential harm to Daisy's temperament was high, An now I had a scared, confused, shut down dog and no idea what she made of the world.

Daisy's condition on collection was not what I expected, she was filthy from dust and debris throughout her coat, even her skin had caked dry dirt, Her weight and body condition was very low as her hips and spine were very pronounced, Because of her matted hair you didn't notice the low weight until you felt her.
Daisy is our largest bernedoodle, she's 28 inch to the withers but she was only 28kg.
She had no change over food, I tried to obtain this information, I was told she eats a cooked whole bird a day, Don't get me started on that!
Well this is when I figured we just need to pretend we know nothing.
I started her on our dogs set diet, obviously she didn't want to eat for a few days, then her tummy was very upset so the vet had to give her an injection and that helped, Now she is eating and her weight is going up.
From the breeder I was able to learn her genetic parentage and even given a few pictures of her as a pup.
Daisy spent a week just sitting at my side wanting to cuddle and be attached, this included in bed at night, she took to our other dogs well and she's learning to not chase the cats, she doesn't do it all the time and never aggressively.
Daisy found her voice, an what a voice!.
Now her puppy side is coming through and when daisy wants to play she GRRR's and barks for attention with her wagging tail.
Her lead manners are poor, walking daisy is like walking a cow, I say these things to be honest, I consider us lucky, Daisy will learn the few bits she needs too with a little time and consistency, Her behaviour from been moved repeatedly could have been far worse, We are building her up, She will be amazing, She's already come along way in just 3 weeks.
