Hochopepa Our Granville With Sibyenna ~ Over Rainbow Bridge

Teddy, The first Italian Spinone we have owned, Bred by Christine Bennett (Hochopepa Affix.)

He is a lovely brown roan boy, growing up very nicely with an amazing temperament and bag loads of personality, He's still very young at heart and play orientated.

He has a wonderful harsh coat, stands 26.5" to the withers, Correct bite and ear set, For a first spinone I was lucky to have him.

I was beyond thrilled that at only his second show he qualified for Crufts 2016, He then went on to qualified for Crufts 2017.

A great credit must go to my good friends Helen Harmer from Stelengold Boxers, Who takes Teddy and myself to the open shows for those very important practice outings and helped handled teddy extremely well building his experience and confidence in the ring during his 1st year, Secondly to Toni Wescott-Smith of Rozimba Briards, As a professional handler and close friend she gets the best from Teddy everytime, Her guidance is forever invaluable and her passion for the compitition inspired my own.

What Teddy achieved before early retirment from the show ring....

2015

ISCGB ~ 27th September 2015 ~ Placed 2nd In Novice handled by Helen Harmer of Stelengold Boxers under breed judge Bill Bunce.

Critique - A kindly boy of a sweet personality, but who is still immature and a touch timid. I feel he will develop but he needs a good deal of practice before he will come into his own.

South Wales Champ show ~ 11th October 2015 ~ 2nd In MPD & 1st In PD under judge Keith Groom, Handled by Toni Wescott-Smith of Rozimba Briards and qualifying for crufts.

Critique - b/r lad not so mature as 1 but that will come, liked his well formed head & soft expressive eye, neck strong & short, front quarters good with well made body, correct in topline, good bone throughout, moved sound & true, coat in good condition, gave nice outline on the stack.

Critique - I like the balance of this dog who was brother to 1st, He stood 3rd here,  Still very raw and needs to get his act together when on the move but won his place on type

Manchester Champ Show ~ 17th January 2016 ~ 1st In Puppy dog, Handled by the amazing Toni Wescott-Smith of Rozimba briards under breed judge John Thirlwell.

Critique - Lovely head and Expression, Good length of neck set into well made shoulders. Correct topline and very balanced when stood, Moved well, front just needs to tighten but has plenty of time on his side.

Matlock & District ~ February 21st 2016, Teddy was placed 3rd In puppy class under judge Val Wade, Handled by myself.

CRUFTS ~ March 11th 2016 ~ Teddy behaved very well and was handled by Toni Wescott-Smith to a very respectable VHC.

**Teddy is not attending a lot of shows during 2016, We've slowed him down in order to mature, However qualifying for the next crufts is important to us so he must attend a select few champ show events.

SKC ~ April 2016, Teddy received a Second under breed specialist Nicola Spence, Teddy was handled by Toni Wescott-Smith and behaved impeccably.

Critique - Brown Roan. Lovely eye and expression with good width between the eyes. Decent strength in muzzle with the desired large spongy nose. Typically square in build with excellent top and underline. Strong through the croup which is well set, not too steep with excellent tail set. Strength through the first thigh though could have a bit more breadth through the second thigh. Hocks well let down. Robust through the trunk of his body with strong, short couplings. Could have a touch more strength and volume in bone for his masculine build and not quite the definition in some head properties of the class winner. A little shorter in upper arm with less fill in forechest than the winner. Soundly made overall.

Critique - This dog has a pleasing expression but I would prefer more length to his muzzle. He has a well constructed body, square in outline with good depth to chest. Short strong neck set into well laid shoulders. Strong, wide quarters . Sound and steady on the move.

CRUFTS

March 11th 2017, Judge Mr Keith Groom, In a yearling Class of 7 entries, Teddy handled by Toni Wescott-Smith was unplaced, Such a shame as he behaved so well but these things happen, Never mind always next year.

Critique ~ 2 year old Spinone with a super masculine head of correct proportions & divergent. Strong neck into an excellent shoulder placement. Correct oval bone & round tight feet. Good depth of chest & well sprung ribbing set well back. Moderate angulation to the rear with good level of muscle. Moving soundly, Best AVNSC

Border Union ~ 17th June 2017, Under judge Suzanne Whittingham, Teddy was placed 1st In Novice and 3rd in Post Graduate, Handled by myself, Giving us that all important qualifier for Crufts 2018.

Critique - Brown roan boy of 27 months. Strong head and good divergence, eyes well open with good colour, nice length of neck with good crest. Well ribbed for his age but still needs to strengthen in front movement . Showing promise.

Teddy retired from showing and lived a happy life, Tragically under very distressing circumstances Teddy passed over rainbow bridge in 2022.

He has left us with a lifetime of beautiful memories and is deeply missed.
